1. Controller

2. Types of Data Processed

We process the following categories of personal data:

  • Contact data: Email address (when signing up for the waitlist)
  • Content data: Videos, photos, text, and property data uploaded by customers for video production
  • Usage data: IP address, access time, browser type (server logs)
  • Communication data: Content of emails received via our support channels
  • Social media connection data (Meta Platform / TikTok): if you connect your own Facebook/Instagram or TikTok account to kannkii – see section 3 d)

3. Purposes and Legal Bases

a) Waitlist / Launch Notification

When you sign up with your email address for our waitlist, we store it solely to inform you about the official launch of kannkii. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing datenschutz@kannkii.com. This will not result in any disadvantage to you.

b) Video Production (Customers)

Uploaded videos, photos, and property data are processed exclusively for the creation of the commissioned social media video. After completion and delivery, raw data is deleted within 30 days. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of contract).

c) Server Logs

When visiting our website, technical data (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, HTTP status code, data volume transferred) is automatically stored in server logs. This data is technically necessary for operating the website and is automatically deleted after 7 days. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in system security).

d) Connected Social Media Accounts (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)

Optionally, you can connect your own Facebook/Instagram account (via “Facebook Login for Business” provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) or your TikTok account to kannkii so that your finished videos are published under your own account. In that case we receive, through the Meta Graph API or the TikTok Content Posting API, only the data you grant in the login dialog:

  • Account and Page data: ID and name of the Facebook Page you select, ID and username of the linked Instagram Business account, or TikTok display name and account ID (Meta permissions pages_show_list, instagram_basic)
  • Access tokens: the access token issued by Meta or TikTok for your account. We store it AES-256 encrypted on our server in Germany and use it solely to publish the videos you approve (pages_manage_posts, instagram_content_publish)
  • Post data and metrics: the IDs of the posts published by kannkii and their reach, views, likes, comments, shares and saves (pages_read_engagement), so we can show you statistics for your posts in the dashboard

We do not read private messages, friend lists or any content not published by kannkii. The data is not shared with third parties and not used for advertising. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of contract) and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent in the login dialog). You can end the connection at any time in the dashboard or app under “Connected accounts” → “Disconnect” – the stored access tokens are deleted immediately. You can additionally revoke access in your Facebook/Instagram settings under “Apps and Websites”. See also: Data deletion.

4. Recipients and Third-Country Transfers

We only share personal data insofar as it is necessary for the provision of our services. Our service providers are contractually obligated to process data in compliance with the GDPR (Data Processing Agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR):

  • IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur – Hosting (servers in Germany)
  • RunwayML / ElevenLabs / OpenAI – AI processing for video production (data transfer to the USA based on Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR)
  • Creatomate – Video rendering service (EU servers)
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland – only if you connect a Facebook/Instagram account: publishing your videos and retrieving post metrics via the Meta Graph API (independent controller; privacy policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy)
  • TikTok Technology Ltd., Dublin, Ireland – only if you connect a TikTok account: publishing your videos via the TikTok Content Posting API (independent controller)

5. Retention Periods

  • Waitlist emails: until the launch announcement or immediately upon request
  • Uploaded raw data (videos/photos): 30 days after delivery of the finished video
  • Finished videos: 90 days in the download area, then deleted
  • Server logs: 7 days
  • Access tokens of connected social media accounts: until you disconnect the account or delete your kannkii account
  • Contractual data (customers): 10 years in accordance with statutory retention obligations (§ 147 AO)

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We use only technically necessary cookies. These are used for access control (e.g. for the password-protected test area) and for remembering your cookie consent (localStorage). We do not use tracking cookies, marketing cookies, or analytics services such as Google Analytics. No consent is required for technically necessary cookies (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

7. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights which you may exercise at any time:

  • Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): “Right to be forgotten”
